Today, 58 regional nature parks cover the French territory.
More than 40 years have passed since the creation of the first Regional Nature Park and there are now 58 of them across France. The surface area of these zones recognised by the State and designated for the preservation of their remarkable heritage now amounts to 19% of the French territory (excluding DOM).
